U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY DIGITAL DATA SERIES DDS-7, 1992
This volume is a collection of 1,477 mostly three-component station recordings from about 500 earthquakes. These data represent all of the available North American and Hawaiian records written by ground-level instruments through 1986..
To order the CD-ROM, request a copy of the USGS Digital Data Series (DDS) #7 CD-ROM,titled "Digitized Strong-Motion Accelerograms of North and Central American Earthquakes 1933-1986 (1992)" from the USGS Information Services group. The current cost (as of February 2000) for the CD-ROM is $32.00 plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. A CD-ROM reader is necessary to use the disk. The data files on the CD-ROM can be read by most computer platforms. And, for those using the CD-ROM on an IBM-style PC, the CD-ROM contains retrieval software that will assist the user in selecting data files with specific characteristics from the collection.
